Turkish Wilderness

Curtesy of my sister's photography...
We have a owl family living on our roof in Turkey, they are delightfull little creatures.I do love
listening to their screetches in the evenings...

Sunset seen from our windows.

It's always so exciting,flying...Each and every time we have a take-off,my eyes tear up,i really don't know why,and i'm sure it's not because of the air pressure...:)

Just having some beer on the beach at night,it's so quiet and it's the only time the beach is acctually empty.Sand was covered in millions of shells that really stung our usually covered in boots feet.No wonder when you live in Scotland...

One of the old street dogs living close to our home.We brought her (or him, didn't check) sausages whenever we could...

If you look closely, you can see a lizard eye in between the cracks, little thing moved on to our roof.

View from our balcony...

Misir Carisi, the Spice Bazaar in Istanbul. You can find anything you need there,of course don't buy anything without haggling a bit first...
I think i have never seen so many colours and smells in one place, the smell of teas and herbs is just too tempting,so lucky i left plenty of space in my suitcase for going back home...

Beauty of Sultanahmet.

Old couple brewing and selling some tea and corn by the roadside, you will find this very common when travelling cross country, the water they use is usually from streams flowing close by,can't get more natural than this...

We seen loads of old houses like this on the way, made me wonder if they are abandoned or just used as a summer house, when people go to the countryside and plow their fields of barley, rice, corn or sunflowers. They find this easier than travelling from far away everyday, and really don't mind lack of electricity and usual home comforts.
